Noisy Deep Minnow

The Noisy Deep Minnow is a variation of the classic Clouser Deep Minnow, but incorporates a hidden glass rattle.  The hidden rattle is pushed inside mylar tubing and then tied approximately 1/3 of the way up the hook bend.  I prefer tying the Noisy Deep Minnow in vivid colors with generous amounts of flash as seen in the "fire tiger" color combination in the fly above.  This pattern excels in murky water conditions where the noise of the clicking rattle allows fish to home in on the fly.  Different sized rattles can be used to give off varying frequencies of noise.  Fish this fly with sharp strips to work the rattle and then prepare for battle!

In addition to the Noisy Deep Minnow, hidden rattles can be incorporated into other patterns.  The high-tie baitfish pattern at the top has a hidden rattle.  The bare hook with rattle can be seen at the bottom of the picture. For basic tying directions of a high-tie baitfish see the Bizurk Bunker.
